Life in Stitches

Moving again

Moving my blog back to my main domain http://dieflyn.com.  Apart from my private blog which will be passworded for when I wish to write personal things, everything will be on my blog, not just stithing.

Not that I’m doing any stitching right now.

*Thunk*

That will be all.

Photos

I have a cold and I feel crap, so short and sweet here’s the photos..

Moonlit Magic..

Snoozes and Sunbeams after working on it all last week..

Lace Sampler, which is this week’s project if my head will let me stitch..

And lastly Celtic Autumn..

Closeup of the section I worked on..

And as a whole, including the beading in the top section..

Almost there

I have ironed and I have taken photos.

A photo of…

Celtic Autumn
Moonlit Magic
Lace Sampler
Snoozes and Sunbeams

Photos are still on the camera, but hey I’m closer to posting them than I was.

I have a headache, a sore throat, and ache all over.

Oh joy.

I’m off to bed.

*Want*

I really want to stitch Teresa Wentzler’s Castle Sampler.

I have the chart for it, but not the cloth or threads.

I have no space in my rotation either, and have pretty much decided what I’m replacing each piece in my rotation with.

But I want, and just thought I’d share that.

Is it time for bed yet?

I got up at 7.30, showered and got ready.

By 8.50am I had…

Taken the dog for a walk, hung washing out, folded washing, sorted washing off the clothes horse, put more washing in, tidied around the living room, had breakfast, done dishes, sorted what I needed to take to work, cleaned the cooker top, cleaned down the kitchen work benches, straightened the sofa, put the pink recycle bag (plastic bottles) out, emptied the kitchen bin and put a new bag in.

I ran out of time before I could sweep the living and dining room floors.  Will do those when I get in.

And hopefully, just hopefully, M and the honey won’t have left a whirlwind of shite behind them today, and so I can sit and get some sewing done before I go to kickboxing and when I get home again.  And I’ll have time to sort out photographs.

August Goals

Whilst I have decided I’m not setting any more goals, I did set some for August and here’s how I did..

  1. 4 squares on Luna. - I actually managed 2 rows, or 16 squares.
  2. Finish beading top borders of Celtic Autumn. - Done at 7.30am yesterday morning.
  3. Get to 10% on Lace Sampler (yes I wound up starting it). - Done, actually did the first 25%.
  4. Get to 30% on Snoozes and Sunbeams. - Done.
  5. Get to 55% on Moonlit Magic. - Done.

No pictures at the moment because I’m at work, and I still haven’t taken any.

Celtic Autumn - I’m going to leave off a progress picture for this week as I didn’t get much stitched on her.  I had the Queen visiting me yesterday… my mum… and so I blitzed the house from top to bottom and got a lot of jobs done (pictures hung, shelves secured, etc) that had needed doing.  Well okay M did those bits, but I watched, helped, and supervised.

My house now sparkles, but my stitching suffered.

This week I’m moving onto Snoozes and Sunbeams.

I owe you photos of Moonlit Magic and Lace Sampler.  No point taking any photos of Luna until I’ve finished the first page, and then every page after that, otherwise it would be a gallery full of… here’s a black looking blob, here’s another blob but a bit bigger, ooooh it’s an even bigger black blob.

It is actually a mixture of black and dark blues, with some greys starting to emerge, but unless you look close up, and until I start mixing in paler colours, it just looks like one giant black blob.

This is how she will look when finished, and right now I’m working in the top left hand corner.

Arse still hasn’t met Elbow

I still haven’t had time to iron the pieces I’ve been working on.

Instead I’ve been blitzing my house from top to bottom and clearing out all the cupboards and stuff.  Still a long way to go until I’ve done everything I want to do, but already it looks a million times better.

I have reset up my stitching corner in the living room, and my lamp works again.  That was a fiasco in itself which had us both baffled.

The plug used a 3A fuse, which of course we had none, so we had to ask our neighbour if he had one we could have.  We changed that and the lamp still didn’t work… and then we realised there was a fuse in the on/off slider as well.  Fortunately we had a fuse to fit that one and changed that too.

And then the lamp came on…. and wouldn’t go off unless you switched it off at the plug.

I was just happy it was working!

Whatever it was, when we moved the lamp back into the corner it righted itself and it works perfectly again now.  Along with my rocking chair and foot stool.

Monthly goals - I’ve completed all but one (Celtic Autumn beading which I’m doing on Sunday), and I’m abandoning the idea of goals for the moment.

Instead I plan on working on Celtic Autumn every Sunday (I can’t do Mondays which is the SAL day).  That leaves the other four projects I’m working on at the moment.  So from Monday to Saturday I shall have a one week rotation between the four.

So fingers crossed… my photo update days should be Sunday (with the weekly one) and Monday (with the Celtic SAL).

But you know what they say about best laid plans and all that.

Arse meet Elbow

One day I might stop being quite so busy so that I have time to iron all the pieces I’ve worked on and take photos.

I’m resetting up my stitching corner downstairs also.  it’s about time!

Poke poke poke

Hey Chiloe….. Hello!!

Just so you know I do read, usually through my bloglines reader.

However, I cannot remember my blogger details which means I cannot comment on any blogger blogs right now (I know some allow you to post anonymously or with a url, but after several times of typing out comments and then finding out I can’t do it that way I’ve given up!!).  It also means at the moment I can’t post to the Celtic Lady SAL.

I can’t even remember my email address to recover the details and have a feeling that it’s one that no longer exists (a pink-carnation.com one).  I will have another go at getting into the account this evening.

Woooooo, why do things half heartedly when you can fail so spectacularly.

Me = ftw, seriously.
